Update 19th September 2018:Apple Safari 12 and Hikvision camerasOne of the best features of an IP camera is the ability to simply view it within your browser. Unfortunately in order to do this though, you need a plug-in called web components. When you try to view your cameras on PC you are prompted with a message notifying you that you need to download the plug-in, however on a Mac, there is no such notification leading users to believe that their Hikvision cameras are faulty or possible not compatible. Now, if you head over to http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/tools_82.html you will be able to download the Mac OS Plug-in. Installation is fairly straightforward. Once you have installed the plug in, you should be able to view your cameras within safari. Make sure you have ’Webcomponents’ selected from the plug-in list though.Everything should work from this point. If you experience any issues past this point, feel free to ask any questions below.Hikvision Dvr Plugin For MacbookHikvision Live View PluginHi,I’d like to download the recorded videos from my DVR. However there seem to be a bug in the web interface’s javascript, whenever I go to Playback, and chose either a file or date and hit the Download button nothing happens. In the javascript console I see an error. So I thought I could download the files, as it does display the filename in the search results table. Can anyone help me to find out how does the download url look, when sou chose a file and hit download? So if in the above download window the ur is: http://10.0.0.150/doc/page/download.asp...and I’d like to download the 1st image: 00000000405006701then what is the url I can download the image?I have this NVR:Device Name:Embedded Net DVRDevice No:255Model: DS-7208HQHI-K1Firmware Version:V3.5.21 build 170815Encoding Version:V5.0 build 170802Hardware Version:0x93a00Web Version:V4.0.1 build 170525Plugin Version:V3.0.6.24
© 2017 Hikvision USA Inc. And Hikvision Canada Inc. All Rights Reserved. Confidential and Proprietary MAC USSC Web Plug-in for DVR & NVR. Download apps by Hikvision Digital Technology Co.,Ltd, including iVMS-5060 HD, HIKMICRO Viewer, 海康嗨看云, and many more.
On September 2, 2015, Hikvision acknowledged Google had discontinued support for NPAPI on Chome version 45 and higher. Hikvision’s solution was to use alternate, not-as-secure browsers. They further committed to produce updated firmware. Years later, Hikvision has yet to address this issue with a firmware release. 5.3.3 does have a new plugin but 5.3.0 does not. IMHO, I think Hikvision is getting ’All their ducks in a row’ as they say. With firmware 5.3.3 to get on the road to encrypting their firmware releases in the near future vs. Leaving their firmware unencrypted as it is now. Making it much more complicated to play with, than it is now.
